The margins of Lake Chopaka were sampled to determine what insects were most abundant in mid-May. All areas sampled were along the shoreline in less than two feet of water. The most prevelant insects were callibaetis mayfly nymphs, damselfly nymphs, and gammerus scuds. Several dragonfly nymphs, aquatic beetles, and caddis larvae were also captured.
